This year, Mossley Primary School is partnering with Barnardos to deliver the PATHS (Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies) programme in our school. This is an evidence-based programme which provides opportunities for our children to explore and develop self-control, emotional awareness, peer relations and interpersonal problem-solving skills.
A highlight of the programme, for the children, is the opportunity to be 'Pupil of the Day'. When a child is 'Pupil of the Day', the child will receive compliments from their teacher and their peers. This is an activity that aims to build our children's self-esteem. The 'Pupil of the Day' also receives a few extra perks for the day.
For example, in one classroom, the 'Pupil of the Day' is allowed to sit on a Minion cushion all day. What a treat!
We hope you enjoy browsing some photographs of PATHS display boards and PATHS Pupils of the Day.
